Title: Got my Muck
Post by: Roy Bham UK on February 14, 2005, 17:24:25
Yippee our local Farmer delivered a whopping big trailer load of Farm manure at 1130am this morning, I’ve been spreading it over the plot non stop till 4pm.
I’m not so sure it’s well rotted but for £20 I think it was a bargain. 8)

I might just leave it as it is and concentrate growing on the untreated side for the time being. :-\
What do others think? ??? ;D

Hi!  I just got my tenner's worth of muck too (a mountain of it worse luck).  I'm going to plant some spuds on it as I'm told it doesn't need to be rotted for spuds.  I'm not going to commit them all to the fresh manure just in case

Roy - it does look rather on the fresh side. You can still see the straw (that's straw, not hay! ;))

It'll be good for your beans, courgettes, squashes, tomatoes, etc.

Looks great Roy! I've just got back from collecting a car load (the wife will kill me) for free that was advertised on ebay! There's loads more if any of you want some. North of Lincoln if you're interested

aquilegia, what would you do with it dig it in first then plant those goodies you mentioned? ???

How long does it take fresh manure to be well rotted? ???
