Was doing a bit of filing today and come across the pictures thought some of you might need some inspiration!

Although I would have to say it is a bit late now to get specimens like these;

Impressive.

Onion gravy for Yorkshire puds or maybe cheese and onion frittata for me.

I wear my kitchen reading glasses when I chop onions.  Helps reduce the tear flow.

That looks remarkably like Delia's red onion tarte tatin!  That's a favourite anyway but especially when I have vegetarian friends to feed.   Sometimes I sneak a layer of goat's cheese log slices on top of the onions before the pastry goes on.  Yum.

I agree, these are based on very old traditional French and Swiss recipes.  My Auntie used to do a lovely Swiss Böllewähe (onion tart) with bacon crispy bits.  Love the idea of goat's cheese too for a veggie version.  :wave:
