Roy,l've had two of the Spikey plants flower so far,but not seen any pups ( l do find calling them pups funny,l feel we are talking doggies LOL!) Looking forward to seeing some pics.

Here’s a picky of the Cordyline australis with pup close by Mama, sorry but the flower heads are out of shot.

This is the palm tree Trachycarpus fortunei (quite common now) very hardy, unfortunately you can’t see the flower buds.

Here’s a closer look at the flowers emerging.

Agave americana tis a nice plant ;D but not very child friendly :( very sharp thorny plant, I didn't think it would make it through the winter as I gave it no rain protection this year :o otherwise quite hardy with temps down to -10ºC ;D

WOW.  :o  ;D
What wonderful pics both Bambi and Roy .I've got a couple of cordylines in pots but would much rather they were in the ground if they grow like that.
Would they survive in a clay soil do you think? ???

Yes if it's well drained, they are not fussy about soils, small plants need their leaves tieing up in winter, you can cut off a bottom leaf and use that to tie it. I don't bother watering in winter, but give plenty of food and water in warm weather ;D
