Spotted this STOAT under my bird table during the winter months, hence the WEEDS.
oh thought I managed to reduce the picture, sorry, still learning.....

I have only ever seen them once. It was a female with her brood. They were crossing the road at the side of the lottie.

Very nice picture Carol ! I had never seen a stoat before neither. Only on TV when they kill the rabbits ... :( :'(

Is this what you saw Chris??? Its the stoat who has the black tipped tail and turns white during the winter.

Last year whilst out wi' dog I heard a squeal. This was closely followed by a rabbit running across my path followed closely by a stoat. I followed them and was able to witness a stoat catch and kill its prey. Fascinating if a bit noisy. Rabbits can make rabbit when nearing the end of their lives at the hands of a predator.
