what is it?

can anyone tell me what this is?  It is growing over from next door lottie.  I feel I should know what it is but can't put my finger on it.

At first sight it looks like a weed of some sought (wildflower!)

I must admit I thought it looked potatoey but in very strange place for spud.  Mind you my son was flinging my seed potatoes everywhere last year so.......

I think I will have a little dig down!

Is looks very like a cutting currently sitting in my mum's greenhouse (which means I am probably completely wrong), that is from a climbing hydrangea called Hydrangea petiolaris.

ooh - that sounds quite posh.  There are several of them poking up through the jungle that is my neighbours lottie. (Along with the sea of comfrey).
