McDonalds help grow veg!!
« on: May 17, 2005, 20:14:43 »
quite like the irony of using these Happy Meal banners to kill the weeds to prepare the ground to grow organic veg! ;D Do you think they will work as they are white?

got a friend who is manager at local mcd's and they were just going to throw them away - they had never been used and were still in wrapper! Really must be one of the most resource unfriendly companies ever.  She is going to ge me some more so will use them for paths too.  We get quite a few low flying military helicopters over the village - probably think someone has gone mad!

Could Mc D give out free bags of spent coffee grounds - some coffee shops do that or may be waste veg for compost...that would help and reduce waste going to refuse sites.

thats a good idea - I will ask my friend!  She also provides me with the wooden coffee stirrers as plant labels and burger boxes as cardboard mulch!  The banners are already starting to work at killing the weeds so she has brought me another one.  Would be worth anyone asking at their local Maccys if they have any going spare.
