urgent swap needed
« on: May 09, 2005, 22:04:15 »
would like to swap licksey, my greyhound x labrador (see left) for a short legged lazy, uncrazy dog who knows the difference between grass and veg/flower beds.
Also dog must be able to make me breakfast in bed, buy me flowers and rub my shoulders after a hard day on the veg plot. (or am i thinking of swapping somebody else?!!?!?!!)

I can offer you my neighbour's cats. Feed them vegetarian and you'll have an endless supply of manure. They even dig it into the borders, seed beds, etc for you!
gone to pot :D

So, unruly dog and unruly step daughter anyone? how can you resist. offer is open for ever!!!!

No point in me swapping with you then Littlegem, your life sounds exactly like mine, especially the last sentance! ;D  ;D (minus the steps, but teenagers of my own!) So I am afraid I shall have to retract my more than generous offer! ;D  ;D  ;D

LG

How about we get a manaquin, stand it by the kitchen sink + you can stay at mine (they'd prob not notice) with a dog that like lettuce, slugs, cuts the grass (well some of it), digs out the moss + an OH who probably makes as much mess as the unruly 16 year old, but does make tea?

You might have to make do with homemade wine - and planting, but you could have your own hammock?

D ;)

Well I was up for the swap until the teenangel was thrown in too!  :o

Littlegem you could have had my docile, funny, gentle, non-flower devouring cat Alice in exchange for the mad dog.

Awww I guess I'll have to keep her.  :-*

I must admit kitty, a tantrum every now and again, gets them thinking, then apologising, then being nice. until the novelty wears off!!!?!!?!?!?
I think you have to wear THEM down, bit by bit if you want to get a satisfactory result. I've learnt that cos they depend on me so much, when i ever get really hacked off and feel taken for granted, I just do nothing, and I mean absolutly NOTHING, then it sinks in to them just how much i actually do, when they have to do it themselves, bit by bit, the weight gets taken off of me. cruel I know, but a few more years of this strategy, and i'll be living like a queen. I hope!! ;)

Little Gem HOW COULD YOU  poor Licksey. If I was near( him/her?) I would cover his little ears so that he couldn't  hear. When I have a moan about Elsa my son-in-law does that to her and says !Don't listen to her"... Son-in-law and daughter often pop in during day to have a cuppa and use my loo (they have a window cleaning round which they started up when Paul was made redundant.... better than going on the dole) Anyhow when Paul walks through front door he shouts out "Hello Baby" needless to say he is not speaking to me. Anyhow as usual I digress. Swapsy????? sorry, I am now on my own, teenagers long gone, not sure Elsa would be a good swap for Licksey, she wakes you up nightly (about 3am) to go in the garden. Barks all the time at visitors. BUT she is lovely.. I suppose you could always come here for a few days respite and leave THAT LOT to cope on their own!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ???

Wow is that offer of respite open to anyone?

My youngest son is in the middle of yr6 sats and oldest is doing AS'ssoon and well stressed.  OH working all hours, one mad cat, one hypochondriac cat (couldn't put paw down, limping badly so took him to vet Sunday morning, he walked normally for the vet and limped as soon as he got home)  middle son needs taking to football tournaments next 4 weekends then uni visits for oldest, I could do with some respite!

Careful we might all descend on you!!

I shall go in the garden instead then I will feel as if I have had a break - it always feels better when I've done some gardening!

Well folk I do love company and as I am the eighth one of nine kids I am use to sleeping head to toe. I only have a small two bedroom bungalow which is now a ONE  bedroom bungalow. When husband was here I would often sleep in spare bedroom as his legs were somtimes so painful even me just turning in the bed was uncomfortable for him. After losing him I decided to turn spare bedroom in to dining room as we only have smallish kitchen and was difficult when we had company.HOWEVER I do have KING  size bed.... 4at the top and 4 at the bottom?? :o ::) Grandson has just brought my car back to me (he is a mechanic) and it has passed it's test except for couple of small advises which he will do for me. What would we do without our families. I am off to do some gardening now. byeeeeeee
