The Good Life

Hi all,

I had an email from the local council yesterday, informing me that the Beeb were going to go and look at our site, to see if it was suitable for filming 'The Good Life'.  In the original series, they used our site, so I expect they thought they would come and see if it is what they want for this series.

How would you feel if it was suggested that your site was used?

On the good (no pun intended) side I would feel:
1. - money, whee!!, you are a tenant, landuser, due payment/compensation for use of your land other than by yourself
2. - cameramen can be quite hunky
3. - can you be an extra - BBC location food tends to be fab - my husband did some scaffolding on a TV location and had swordfish for lunch!
On the bad
1. are you then banned from the lotty when filming??
2. presumably you can't grow things for continuinity reasons - and they will be sticking cabbages in from Sainsbury's???
3. all that walking over your land may knack your soil...which takes you back to good point number 1.!!

A Nurseryman friend of ours was pleased to welcome a gardening prgramme to his Nursery. They came, filmed all day, he potted up a plant so many times it died and the star spent most of the day in a vehicle complaining about how cold it was. The item lasted less than 5 minutes in the programme. Enjoy your day)s).

Gardening is the great leveller.
