Rose

I want a white shrub rose, like a rosa glauca or similar, where is the best place online to order one from? Does anyone have a favorite cheap site? I only usually order seeds online but thought I'd go for the really dangerous and order plants....might as well get a loan too while I'm at it. ;)

Thanks Val...

I'm boring a old ***** and get the from our local Notcutts!! Sad eh? They seem to have loads of varieties. Find one you like the look off, do RHS plantfinder search thingy on net and see what's about? David Austin does them on line, but I think he'd be quite pricey. Not much help, am I!!! If you'd like, a have an encyclopedia of roses, would happily find a few for you. Lottie  ;D

That is a beautiful rose but...its not the sort I'm looking for, I don't know anything about roses, but I have 2 shrub type in my garden,no black spot no aphids the perfume is gorgeous but they're pink, they sort of look like the wild rose, single flowers, I'd love a white one...I don't really like roses, the trouble they give but these are trouble free and have lovely hips, which is a bonus. They also don't need pruning, am I giving enough clues or shall I try to post a pic? Thanks for the help so far. Val.

I found one everyone. Rosa Rugosa Alba, I found it on crocus £6.95 , is that expensive for a rose? It looks much the same as the pink one I have. Thank you all for your help. Val.

It's slightly cheaper, £5.25, at http://www.rvroger.co.uk/Retail/RoseWeb/OpenGroundRoses/rugosa_roses.htm
but I haven't compared carriage costs.

Thanks Jill, now I have found the type I want, I think I'll look on the local garden centre web pages, if they have it, it'll be cheaper still to pick it up, if not I'll order online.
