Red spider
« on: April 13, 2005, 11:25:10 »
I found several of these under my Damson tree yesterday. They're not what I believe to be red spider mite, 'cos their too big. They were at least 3mm long & looked velvety.
Any ideas?  ???

I believe these are Acari velvet mite - Neotrombicula Sp. I have lots on my allotment and have googled and found this name. However can not find much info on them so if anyone else out there kmows more!

fantastic! I was wondering what they were... have them everywhere this year. They are ant predators so good luck to them in that case - I have way too many red ants for comfort  :-\
