What seed compost would your recommend

I made some of my own and it was great.  But I needed more.
I usually use Asda or Aldi.  Asda is awful this year, it is like cut up pieces of old string.  It is either too wet or too dry.
Asda is nice and fine but my cabbages damped off but also seems to dry out very quickly.  But the onions like it.  Their 'premium' one is better but coarser no damping off so far. 
Which makes do folks recommend?
Sainsburys have Levingtons for a good price, £8 for two. 
And B&Q have Miracle Gro for £8.
