Epicure seed potatoes
« on: March 01, 2020, 14:35:17 »
Not a great fan of the Dobies chain of garden centres.. but pleasantly surprised today to find a pick and mix seed potato stall.. a couple of dozen varieties to choose £2.49 to fill a small bag. Hadn't seen Epicure around here for a couple of years so I filled two bags, had I chosen smaller ones it would have run out at about 15-18p per tuber, comparable with many potato day events I have visited and I missed my local one this year. So a round of applause for Dobies...
My only gripe was the tray of potatoes under the Epicure sign clearly weren't and the Epicure were under the Sharpe's Express label. Tuber size, shape and depth of eyes were easy enough for me to spot the difference but perhaps not other shoppers, OH wouldn't let me swap the two trays over so that the Epicure were in the right place as we couldn't be sure the others were Sharpe's....
