ps having beans climbing up sweetcorn seems to protect it from being eaten. Whatever it is, birds, rats, or squirrel which attack it I lost must less than most people.

I am pretty sure originally it was a circle, that was hilled up in the middle, the middle was palnted first, then the nexxt stuff was on the slope and the last was almost on the flat ground, yes and all keeping varieties.
