poor old tulip tree
« on: March 11, 2019, 09:45:37 »
It was just about to open its blooms, the tight buds are alright now but more wind to follow again tomorrow will see the rest of the half open ones scattered to the winds. I look forward to it every year as it heralds spring and it is nice to see it in full flush.

Magnolia on the other side of the street is early.
Not sure how long it will last either.

My neighbour to the west of me has a huge magnolia. Right now it is in full bloom and the gale force winds are rapidly turning my patio pink with soggy, wet petals :hmh:.

I wish it was just pretty petals on mine. Guttering and bits of facia blown off the house and littering the garden. Got up the ladder in a calm spot and screwed and stopped  the flapping bits from getting worse. Now waiting for the builders with their sharp intakes of breath when they give me the quote. Insurance should be paying though.
