Aldi potting bench
« on: March 02, 2019, 13:48:56 »
I'm looking for a potting bench to fit in a small shed. Just seen this one coming up at aldi and wonder if anyone has had one before and if so, is it any good?

I found one in my local store, they are sold out online. OH put it together and deemed it quite sturdy, I like the galvanised top. My only criticism is it’s a bit small on top, my plastic potting trough that I’ve used for years is much deeper and unfortunately hangs much too far over the top to be of use. The two shelves are useful so I’ve put it in my greenhouse and put all my labels, pens, potting up tools and vermiculite on it which looks very tidy! I plan to do a sowing session soon so all set now!
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

I agree about the size, but there's not room for anything bigger in my shed!

The size looks about the same as my old galvanised metal potting bench which is fine for me but I would add something to make the back and sides higher so you can pour out compost without it overflowing.

I've got a plastic potting tray that fits on top but is bigger than the stand-up sieved some compost today successfully using that.
