40 days and 40 nights
« on: January 01, 2019, 08:07:23 »
After working in the parks and gardens for a long long time I came to realise that we used to start mowing the grass usually in the second week of February. It was then that the temperature was over 10 degrees and things were growing. Herbaceous borders were waking up and weeding started in earnest. It was also close to St Valentines day which  folk law deemed was the day the birds paired up. Not wanting to wish my life away but I hope these next 40 days fly by so as I can get on and start planting again, even if it is only in the propagators. Really after xmas break  we don't really need January lets get rid of it. Keep just one day for me as it is my birthday in Jan. which usually passes in a haze anyway.

Just start growing onions from seed, it helps pass the 'grey days'; just learn to bask under a growlight!
