Could somebody please point me to an instructional on how to post pictures. Ta.

Click on Attachments and other Options under Post Reply box

Click on;Choose file

This should open up your computer to your files!

Negotiate to the picture you want to upload and click on it and this will copy its address to A4A (currently reading No file chosen)

If you make an error then click on (Clear attachment)

If you want to add more than one photo click on (more attachments) and repeat the procedure explained in the choose file example above.

I hope this explanation is clear enough to get you up and running.

Depends if you want them to be in the right orientation?

I've been doing all that but it does not show anything on the preview. Do I have to tick any boxes elsewhere on the site before it lets me post pictures.

It does not allow previews !

What I do is publish the photo then hit the post button then have a look if it ok then fine, if not I click on modify and clear the attachment and try again.

Yes I think this is the only thing that flummoxed you, you have to hit the post button before you will see them appear.  And it does take a little while uploading the pictures too, but there is a progress indicator bottom left of the screen. 

It is easy to modify a message including photos if you are not happy with the results.  Good luck

I prefer to post images elsewhere and link to them.  imgur.com is great and gives you the code to post here.

The image at the bottom is using the built in functionality

But if you post the pic on imgur.com you get a nice big image inline with the post.



You can even do clickable images

I used to use an image hosting site but got fed up with all the crap that came with it, plus it would not work with a ad blocker. As we can now upload straight to A4A it make sense to use it without having to go to another site first.
