Role of Site Secretary

What would you think the minimum tasks a Site Secretary should be expected to do?

Ours seems to be performing less than the bare minimum and some are considering a coup!

Whats this runner beans at dawn? Ours just started this year full of enthuasiam. Even his wife joins him ha ha but they have get togethers in the local pub each month to talk over any problems. He has spot checks twice a year and if a lottie is not worked he sends a letter to them. Now hes getting a coach trip up to Malven Show. As well as collecting the money in in Sept. He started me off with some cabbage plants for the lottie and a bunch of carrots to take home ah bless. Teresa

Our site secretary, a dear lady, doesn't muck around!  On our site, one gentleman has about 8 plots dotted all over.  He takes them on rather than leave them vacant and does a little on each, helping to keep the weeds at bay....however, he has been spending less and less time on site and over the summer the weeds have started to take hold....so.....when we wanted a plot, she gave us a guided tour of the site, pointed out a few potential plots, she then decided which would be the best, and called the gent, and told him we were taking one of his plots!  Job done!  He didn't argue!!  She is in charge thats for sure!
