Ideas, please
« on: October 15, 2017, 12:41:07 »
I am planning to dig out a Kerria which had got diseased- you might be able to see the remains of it in this photo . I'm looking for something to replace it, with some height to cover the fence and next door's recent extension and preferably with autumn and winter interest as we have our house up for sale! This whole corner is looking a mess with poorly performing crocosmia etc and I'm happy to take everything out and start again.

Fingers crossed the photo appears!

If you're selling, best to tidy up what you have and make it look manageable rather than spend money on plants that may well be discarded by new owners with other ideas.   You don't say what aspect it is or what kind of soil you have but a couple of trellis panels attached to th efence would soften the look of that extension and make a great home for a climbing or rambling rose and/or clematis, honeysuckle, virginia creeper.......
