Basic potato question

Is there any point watering potatoes after they have stopped flowering? I dug up some Charlotte day and the soil was very dry. Wondered if it was watering the rest in the hope of a better crop, but don't want to waste water!

I wouldn't water them any more, if the skins have started to set they could split. Dry soil usually means nice clean potatoes - works for me :D

I never water mine as I see this as an invitation to blight spores.
