These things are going crazy in the top corner of the garden. Impossible to dig out as roots so deep but what on earth are they?

Interesting and sorry, don't know. Unless it is some type of dock with much lusher and broader leaves that the type we have here.
They look very similar to those hosta thingies that people treasure and slugs devour. Could you think of them as a sort of hosta and give them garden room?
Probably not!, but they are an impressive looking plant and I am also curious what they are.
