Do any of you spin, knit etc?

I notice a lot of folks on my knitting forum grow veg....so curious re overlap

yes, I spin, have four lovely spinning wheels and I knit, have done so for 61 years and I grow most of my v eg, have done anytime I had a big enough space. I eat organic and live in a real eco house (not a posh one). Any more? I am not a veggie but don`t eat a lot of meat

I knit. I have a spinning wheel up in the loft, which I promised to get down when I retired and have another go. Instead I got an allotment ..............

My mum taught me to knit when I was about 8 so I've been doing that for quite a while, but I pretty much stopped when I taught myself to crochet. Crocheting seems so much more natural to me and more fun, and it's a lot easier to create your own patterns than with knitting.

I have no patience for large projects though, and pretty much exclusively make small dolls and animals (and recently cat toys).

I'm another knitter - I've always thought that veg growing and knitting are a matching pair of hobbies!

Knitting in winter, allotment in summer.  Like knitting toy animals, then don't get too cross if it goes wrong.

Funnily enough on one of the Ravelry boards (forum for knit, crochet spinners) they were talking about gardening so much that someone suggested a separate gardening thread.
Many of us who are gardeners are also crafting types.

I am learning to spin on a wheel and spindle. I have a borrowed wheel and am eying up wheels.....travelled to get my friend a lovely one the other day.

We used to knit at junior school, boys as well as girls. One thing I was good at as Mum had already taught me.

thats why i fish alone to stop you women folk getting your hooks in lol still i could not avoid it got married and got 8 kids  you get your way in the end lol

Both knit and crochet.  When the kids were young, I frequently had my second hand knitting machine out too for school jumpers and the like.  But I am afraid, that is in the back of the wardrobe at the moment.

Ooh exciting! I make appliqué wall hangings, do tapestries whose design I paint myself, dabble in portrait painting, make soaps and moisturisers and have been looking at the bales of old fleece lying around the local farms here wondering if I could make felt. This year I'm growing some dye plants madder, woad and weld to dabble a bit with natural colours. Would love to learn more about spinning! Sounds fascinating bu can only knit the basic stitch because perl just feels so wrong! Hi crafters!
