Spring

onions!  These are a pair of 'guardsmen'. Very green, I kept meaning to earth them up and forgot! Funny how the springies do not suffer from the white rot!  I have 3 different varities in for the summer - a red one and 2 whites.  I am planning on griddling them and having them with, yup, my lamb chop for dindins.

(Just so you don't think he is being left out, Ava will be getting the same!)

don't they look funny without the white bit!

How long did it take from sowing to harvest? Are they easy? (Mr Aqui loves them, although I don't!)
gone to pot :D

I have them in the plot and garden year round Aqui.  These ones, I think, went in late summer time, similar time to my leeks.  I am not bothered about the whiteness, even with my leeks, and we do get through a fair few!  They can be very quick, and you could start some now in pots or modules, a pinch of seed in each module and plant out where ever you have space, then when you want a few, you pull out a bunch!

Like this? The second sowing. Shouldn't normally be any need to earth up.

Even they got the rot last year, so it's raised beds for them this year.
