Picked a kilo of Rasps over the weekend so jam time for me - Raspberry Jam along with blackcurrent jelly is my favourite.
Picking and shelling Broad Beans like mad - never had so many and the freezer if filling up.
Strawberries - complete write off but that is my fault - better luck next year.

So far despite a lack of rain it is an excellent year despite a few self made disasters.  My main issue this year is where to put everything as I seem to have largely over estimated the area I have.
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!

Greenhouse crops are doing well, mini cucumbers have started cropping, toms showing baby fruits, sweet peppers setting fruits.
Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

blackcurrant picking is in full swing here, thankfully only ben conan so far, lovely big fruits. Ben sarek has a way to go yet. I have lots, eat them every single day at breakfast. Hate picking them but doing it bit by bit ie every handful is a breakfast and a bowl is a week. No point thinking sprigs as the fruit is ripening in stages

Lettuce, bit of a glut but my trusty veg (expensive ) juicer is helping me out, I must be having 12 veg a day at the moment. I might make some soup later, lettuce is good for that too. I am glad I was selective and restrained this year, I can`t waste veg. Chard and spinach are cropping every day, also small courgettes. They are good ones, alexander, hold their fruits high so I can see them and nice to eat

Garlic and shallots are all up, dried for a couple of days, tidied up and now drying longer term. Fantastic crop, autumn planted, year on year

invicta are picked, hinnonmaki are turning red. Blueberries swelling, still green

Fennel ready to pick in stages and the house is full of vases of alstroemeria, gorgeous

Garlic and Shallots romping away, b.sprouts doing well as are courgettes and may have some goosberries to harvest soon (no idea when there ready). Chillis and tomatoes going back into greenhouse this afternoon now the 4 ants nets have been removed and i have managed to get the shades down :) Carrots just popping through the soil and 3rd lot of peas and beans failed to come up so i am abandoning the crops this year (although man in market said he might have some plants thursday so might sucum and buy some).
