first spring onions

picked my first spring onions autumn sown white lisbon i can tell you they are little on the hot side

Well done sir! Approximate date of sowing? and how protected during the winter? (Maybe just the tropical east coast!!)

September sowing no protection as said just the tropical sunshine coast i must say even on our site i have the most sheltered plots on the site that why they all come to me for coffee the phrase often used is its like the Caribbean up this end often im in shirt sleeves and the rest are in jumpers lol

My autumn planted onions, put out under a polycloche, have been neated cropped off about 3"above gro und, bl**dy voles! ,I think.
 Not quite sure if they will sprout again from the root, never had that before (to onions) They got 16 /18 Aquaduce too, Little nippers have replied , up into double figures now.

never really suffered from rodents on the plot however the army of cats that s@#? all over my plots im not surprised

My autumn planted (maybe late summer..) ones are doing well in a trough in the garden - had some in an omelette with eggs from the garden chicken..
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!

I reckon its all that extra "nutrient" thats given your onions the extra"heat"!! Enjoy.
