Yes there is something about roses. A 'proper' gardener just feels compelled to grow them. As if it is some kind of initiation into a club.
I too fel like this even tough they dont grow properly in my garden.
Cant smell 'em either, even some of the really fragrant ones.

What a shame you can't smell them! Even if they don't grow too well on your ground, at least they still look beautiful, so you can enjoy that at least.

To clarify i can smell SOMETHING but not enough to really appreciate them. With most things i have to really get up close and have a really good sniff to detect a scent.
Strange ti seems only to be with roses. other smells/scents are easier to pick up.
