Flies and Chicken Run
« on: August 27, 2016, 09:56:18 »
This year we have what seems like thousands of flies swarming around the chicken run and now we have seen them landing on the chickens. We have put some mint plants around part of the outside of the run but it doesn't appear to making any difference. We clean out the run every day of their poo.

Any suggestions on what we could do would be gratefully accepted.

I suggest you buy one of these fly traps.  They really work and get rid of hundreds of flies.  We have used them near our chicken runs but make sure they are not near your house.

Alternatively, you could make your own.  See: http://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/quick-and-easy-to-make-highly-effective-fly-trap/
