too late to chit pots?
« on: March 27, 2005, 18:40:09 »
I just planted my first earlies but I didn't have enough to fill the bed!
Is it too late to chit some more potatoes? Maybe some second earlies or main crop.
Thanks for any help and happy easter to all!

You can do - if you want them out of the way. But the less time they are in the ground, the less slug damage(?), & the better chitted, the quicker they'll get away.

Or so I believe!

I have some pink for apples that were intended for eating.  Could I chit them in an unheated green house or would they turn to mush ?

As long as they are in dark as in a box etc and not wet they will chit ok in a cold greenhouse.. There is still plenty of time to chit and sow tatties... ;)
