Funnily enough quite a trivial job- tying the winter brassicas to their stakes! I think it is the bending over, the drops of water on the leaves dripping off on me, and trying to tie the string underneath the leaves and only being able to see half of what i'm doing.
Apart from darning socks, which I hardly ever do now socks aren't made of wool, at least not the ones we buy.

Taking down old bean and pea supports. Such a memento mori - they were put up in hope and anticipation in the summer, and taken down again with their dying corpses in the late autumn......

The most awful job (not needed this year thankfully!) is destroying lush, promising but blighted tomato and potato plants.  :(
