It was most kind of you to drop off a delivery of green manure grains. I think it is wheat. But any grain will do fine. Two and half buckets full is indeed very generous. It is going in now and tomorrows rain will hopefully get it going. Then will be dug in and then in go the Wizard beans in October for the winter.
Would it possible next year to put it into a plastic bag rather than spreading it round the local roundabout? It was a bit hairy sweeping it up.
Also managed to harvest a bucket full of oats which I have been growing since you dropped that off a couple of years ago. Gets very tall makes a great wind break.

Don't worry, the rats will come and clear up any that you missed. Well, at least they do down our lane.!
Now all we need is the annual potato smash all over the road where they bounce out of the uncovered wagons.

No potatoes round here. Do sometimes get some rape seed. That is good green manure as well.
The grain normally germinates on the road, not enough rats, and then it gets very slippery.
