Does anyone know what this is and if it's a pest? It attaches itself to leaves and is about 5cm long.

Nice picture and lucky you, it looks very much like a Ladybird Pupa.

Thanks for your help, had no idea ladybird pupa looked like that. And yes, should have been 5mm!
