99p Stores
« on: March 05, 2016, 16:03:56 »
If you are lucky enough to have one of these nearby it's worth a look in. We called in for cheap insulation tape, which we use to fasten canes to the top of blue pipe hoops for debris nets. They have some multi packs of seeds.. 6 or 8 varieties for 99p. The beetroot selection includes Choggia, a yellow and a white... needless to say I bought all four that I could find.

Don't know about pound stores for seeds, but I know people who swear by seed from Lidl. Never tried them myself though. Anyone tried them?

GM - I like their tomato 'Harzfeuer' for being reliable and prolific. 'Neckarkoenigen' is a good climbing French bean too. Years ago I bought 2 varieties of Tagetes from Lidl and have been saving seeds ever since. Currently have a tray of seedlings just peeping through. (They will keep the white fly away from the tomatoes in my small greenhouse.)

Most certainly!
Not had any issues except that they sell out quickly and are not restocked. I restrict myself(?) to things like radish, lettuce, carrots, onions . which all are straitforward and simply great value.29p per packet ,start at 5 for £1

Courgettes and gherkin also are recommended

Lidl seeds are great in my experience! Small packs - but then I only have a fairly small garden.

Hmm looks like i am going to have to try some then! I have got all of my seeds for this year but the odd extra packet to try out wont do any harm! Tomatoes particularly.

1. Lidl now has new seeds at 49p per packet.
2. Poundland superglue an absolute bargain. Works great and you get a number of tubes. I used it for making drainage channels on greenhouses. It sticks aluminium a treat.

To release cyanacrylate (super glue), soak in water.
