Daffs

Last autumn I planted a row of daff bulbs purely for picking for the house.  I have to say, I shall double them up this autumn as they look great on the plot, I am on my 3rd vase full in the house, and in a couple of weeks, when the leaves have gone over, I can plant a row of lettuce or something over the top of them!

Can't beat a bunch of friendly daffs indoors to welcome the spring, especially on days like today. Lovely pic EJ.

I always say I'll grow them for cutting, and plant more each year. Then they look so lovely in the garden I never do, and end up buying three bunches for a quid from the local markets...

currently my front garden rockery looks like this (mostly Jetfire and tete-a-tete) and there's a lot more full sized daffs on the other side of the path and in pots by the front door and in hanging baskets (tete-a-tetes)... and in the back... and a half barrel...

Wow its lovely.

I planted tulps in my front this year ... another couple of days and some should have opened.

Moonbells it looks lovely. Your tulips are doing well Nigella, the ones I've got in the ground look a bit eaten, but the pot ones are okay, no buds yet though. Eric what are the pink flowers I can see?

Val, the pink flowers are  Helleborus hybrids, self seeded ones. The shrubs in the picture are mostly Viburnums and before long they will have to be moved as they are outgrowing the area!
