Orange Tip
« on: May 09, 2015, 13:19:26 »
Just saw an Orange Tip butterfly.  Never seen one before although they are fairly common apparently.  Interesting how different they look with their wings closed and open.  Cloudy skies and the wings stay closed, a few rays of sun and the wings opened.  Lucky there was enough time to dash in and fetch the camera.  Just a moment after the second picture the butterfly had taken off.   :sunny:

Good pictures. I occasionally see them on the allotments but have yet to take a good photo of one.

The underside looks like it's gone mouldy. ;)

Thank you both.  Flighty I hope you will be able to catch one on camera soon.  I was lucky and saw it land, then it clouded over and it was still there when I came back with the camera.  Just enough time.  Yes, it is well camouflaged with its wings closed, Silverleaf.
