Marrow Rum
« on: September 04, 2014, 18:21:33 »
Anyone made this before ? I've got to the stage where it is sitting in the demi john and the yeast has been added. The liquid now has a thick layer ( over 1/2 inch) of bubbles sitting on top which is bubbling away. No mention of this in the recipe so hoping this is OK.

Anyone done this before or something similar

The bubbles are just an indication of the fact that the yeast is getting to work healthily!  I've not done a marrow rum (but I should probably have a go this year given how many marrows I have!) - but am making victoria plum wine and it's foaming like a good'un too!
