A couple of weeks ago I was given some lovely spinach from another plot holder and delicious it was too. Was speaking to her yesterday and she gave me about 6 plants that she's let go to seed. There must be hundreds of seeds on them. When would be the best time to sow them please?
Also, I would like to give this lady something in return but my original plot was a complete disaster this year and the only things that grew were some runner beans and not really that many either. I'm open to any suggestions.
On the plus side my second plot has really good soil and we've accomplished more in under two weeks than we have all year with the other one. It's starting to look good already. There is some couch grass on it, a few docks, some of which we've dug out but so far no sign of the dreaded bindweed which my original plot is full of. We've been turning over the soil and by next day the grass is dead. Think I've struck it lucky with this one
