IPad
« on: June 04, 2014, 01:09:20 »
Can anyone explain to me how to remain logged in on my IPad,

The logging in facility works well in my PC where I use the Firefox  browser but I can't say the same with my IPad where I have to log in every time I want to enter the site.

Could it have anything to do with the Safari browser on my IPad?

Any advice would be appreciated....Tg

I get logged out occasionally on my iPad, using the Chrome browser. Only occasionally though.

I don't know what triggers a logout, but I suspect losing internet connection briefly might have something to do with it perhaps.

Do you have to log in every time TG?

It is most likely the cookie setting on safari on your ipad.

Try this and set Block cookies to never.  If that works try setting to block third party...

In the main;Yes! but there is the odd occasion I don't have to.

It is because of this that prompted my question!

That seems to have worked it was set at; Block Cookies from third parties and advertisers

I don't quite get the meaning of the last part of your reply Nick, considering that was the setting that was in place.

So now my question is; Do I leave it at 'never' or return it to; Block Cookies from third parties and advertisers?

What I meant (I was in a rush!) was that never blocking cookies is a bit insecure so if that worked then we know that the issue was cookie related.
The we could move to the slightly more secure "third party" setting to see if that worked.  Not sure how A4A handles the login procedure so it may need to be set to never block - given that it was set at "third parties" that may be the case but you can try either and see what works - it may well remember your login if you set it back to what it was.  An ipad is a secure device so I wouldnt worry unduly...

Often if you aren't logged in when you first get here, refreshing the page will log you in again.
