young penstemons
« on: August 08, 2013, 13:01:18 »
Hi there.

Earlier in the year I bought some mini penstemons which I potted up into 3.5 inch pots and put in the greenhouse.  They remained small for some time but during the last couple of weeks they have suddenly shot up to about 8 inch tall and I am unsure what to do now.  I probably should have pinched out the tops as soon as they started growing.  Not sure whether to do it now, or plant them in the garden, or re-pot in a larger size and leave in the old, unheated greenhouse over winter, or do nothing.  They look very healthy at the moment but would hate to lose them all over winter.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
