Who Me???
« on: March 13, 2005, 14:40:52 »
On tv this morning the following was quoted by a certain politician who may or may not have learned a lesson recently (but that's not  the point of this post!).  The full poem is a couple of verses longer than this but these are the veses I have long had imprinted on my brain - just in case!!  ::) ;) :D

Indispensable Man

Sometime when you're feeling important,
Sometime when your ego's in bloom,
Sometime when you take it for granted,
You're the best qualified in the room.

Sometime when you feel that your going,
Would leave an unfillable hole,
Just follow this simple instruction,
And see how it humbles your soul.

Take a bucket and fill it with water;
Put your hand in it up to the wrist;
Pull it out and the hole that's remaining,
Is a measure of how you'll be missed.

Equality isn't everyone being the same, equality is recognising that being different is normal.

Whilst the politician might have used the words as political propoganda (have to admit to not knowing who it was as am trying extremely hard not to listen to any of them!) i thoroughly agree.  After all, we are only that to our nearest and dearest and, in many other situations, are totally dispensible!  Just goes to show that other cliche is right "be kind to those whom you meet on your way up, you never know whether you might need them when you are back on your way down!

 :D :D :D
