Buzzing insect at dusk driving me off lottie
« on: July 25, 2013, 04:36:49 »
I have an insect on my lottie that comes out at dusk.  About the size of a bee and it buzzes round my head and ears.  Seems quite aggressive - flying straight at me.  It certainly drives me off my lottie.  Has anyone a suggestion as to what it is.  Maybe a type of moth.  It appears to be light brown in colour.  It is very persistent.   It only seems to appear once it gets too dark to get a good look at it.  Which for me would rule out any type of bee or wasp.  I am thinking it is some kind of beetle.

I have posted a similar thread before but got no responses which seems to match.

Has anyone has any experience of the European june bug? It is not big enough or stupid enough to be a may bug.  One some web sites they seem to be the same thing but others state the June bug is smaller.
As far as I know May bugs to not buzz, they just fly into the window and go bump.
