At last
« on: May 30, 2013, 21:56:01 »
I sowed some 16+ squash seeds expecting most to germinate and that I would be giving away some plants. That was about a month ago and only yesterday/today have I seen little green shoots. I had nearly given up thinking they had rotted off or something.

Now the question is - is there enough time to get crops from them?

Barriedale, do you plant outside, or in a polytunnel or greenhouse? Same Question to Basfordlad and Gwynleg.

Plant in pots on the window sill, harden off in the greenhouse and then outdoors..

Thanks for the replies - very reassuring. I plant them outside in little heaps of manure and usually they do really well (I still have 2 little squashes surviving from last year  - to be honest I will be glad when they've gone I had so many.

Think I'm going to try a couple of mine in the poly tunnel and some outside, but being in the N/West Pennines maybe too cold. What do you think?
