Herbal tea mixtures?
« on: June 05, 2013, 13:21:57 »
Maybe this should be in drinks forum?
Anyway my hubby likes herbal teas (infusions) so this year I decided to put all those mostly decorative plants to use! I have started drying the edible leaves and flowers to make herbal tea mixtures, but I am not sure which ones will make a good mixture when I put them together. Any ideas?
What I have to choose from is:
mint
thyme
rosemary
lemon verveine
lemon balm
sage (leaves and flowers)
camomile
strawberry leaves
pot marigold petals
roses
clover flowers
poppy petals

And I might be able to scrounge some fennel I think.

I was thinking making a digestive tea with mint, a little green tea and fennel but what about the other ingredients. I could also add ginger and citrus peels.
Was also thinking of a mixture of rosemary, verveine, marigold and a little lemon peel. The flowers in general are more for looks!!!
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com
