Noticed that the ones that come to my Mum's house every year have not showed up yet  . they are usually there by mid April and numbers generally down here. (Northern Ireland)

Anyone else noticing the lack of Swallows ?

Swallows and House Martins have been here for a couple-few weeks, South West Wales. Cuckoo around the same time too.

Correction! At 8pm this evening I was in the garden and three swallows (or swifts?) swooped by with their shrill cries. They were too high to identify precisely. Lovely to hear them after the long, miserable winter.

I went walkies yesterday and saw my first martins of the year. Think they were sand martins  by the estuary [Humber]. Yes the cuckoo arrived a fortnight ago and can quickly do one's head-in :BangHead:
