Can you ID these bulbs?
« on: April 21, 2013, 14:48:57 »
I have been re-claiming a bit of overgrown garden and I have dug up these few bulbs.
Wondering what they are?
I have stuck them in a tub at the moment, hoping they might be something nice!

They look like bluebells to me, but presumably you'd have known if you had bluebells in that patch?

aren't bluebells more white around the bulb rather than brown ? Plus, I think they're smaller and more elongated.

I'm not sure, but could they be giant snowdrops? Not even sure that is the right name for them, but its what I call mine. I think mine have a darker leaf, but if yours have been covered up a bit that could explain it.

YES, there were blue bells in that patch. I dug up some smaller ones and when I saw these bigger ones, I thought they were something else! Never had iris or snow drops there. I didn't know they could grow that big. I have the perfect place for them to go now, on the waste ground by my car! Will get them out of that tub next weekend!

Thank you all x
