Topic: Cherry tomato - new multi coloured variety

I have ordered new these cherry tomatoes to try in 2013,  yellow, orange, red & pink tomatoes all on 1 plant.  My trial seed variety
 for 2013:

Had a look, it is a blend of 4 different varieties, rather than 4 types on one plant.

Tomato ‘Katiebell’ (yellow)
Tomato ‘Lizziebell’ (orange)
Tomato ‘Luciebell’ (red)
Tomato ‘Flamingo’(pink)

They all look the same size of little plum.   They look attractive.  I wonder whether they were bred from non-hybrid tomato Sun Belle as they have Belle in the name?

Reminds me of the Del series of tomatoes.  They are cherry tomatoes, not plums tomatoes.  They are not hybrids and based on the Gardeners Delight, but all different colours.

Definitely did.  Got email back from T&M today confirming they are all different plants.  Different seed all put in one pack.  Wouldn't of bothered otherwise.  I did read the 4 different varieties but I initially thought they may of been grafted.  That's what you get for rushing the order through 5 min to midnight before free postage finishes, only consolation being it was the only pack of seeds I ordered because they looked like something different.

It says "best grown outdoors". Are you intending to do that?

These days I've totally given up with outside tomatoes because of blight. It always seems to hit here just as the first few fruits begin to ripen then I have the bother of dumping the lot after all the effort & cost.

It's indoor toms for me or not at all.

I do like the idea of trying something that might be as tasty as Sungold. I grow "bambino" which is a relatively cheap seed and (so far) a very reliable producer of countless baby / cherry tomatoes. Flavour is very good but not as distinctive as Sungold.

I often think the very same thing.... over the last four or five years I've reduced the number planted outside until last year it was just three left over rather feeble looking plants. I ignored them apart from the odd slosh of water when it was dry (joke!) .... one tomato from each then into the bin bag! - blight -

I was tempted but I’d already bought Katibell, as they looked and sounded lovely. But the mix does look good, look forward to hearing how they all taste.

Kt if you are looking for a "trial" I noticed in the plant world catalogue they have Banana Currant tomato which is a cross they have introduced and would be interested to hear back from anyone giving it a go, could be interesting I am going to give it a go.
