Hi all,

I am a University of York student studying Environmental Geography and currently researching for my dissertation:
"Why we grow our own: An investigation into benefits provided by local allotments"

I am interested in finding out what motivates people to keep allotments and what benefits they receive in return.  I am aiming to gather results to help better understand the value of allotments to society.

If you have a few minutes free please have a go at filling in my questionnaire online: (please copy link into browser)

 https://docs.google.com/a/york.ac.uk/spreadsheet/viewform?fromEmail=true&formkey=dFRkZTFoZkFvWWpFNTEzRDJfVzBrTGc6MQ

(Please note, do not hit the enter key until the end or the form will be submitted)

I will be very willing to post my findings on the forum on completion of my project

Thank you very much

From a fellow allotment holder and research student

Good luck with your researches.

You do not mention costs, funding, subsidies, and ways to maintain the supply of allotments and creation of additional growing spaces.

Thank you for filling in the questionnaire, the responses have been fantastic, very detailed and thought provoking. I will be posting feedback of results on completion of my dissertation later next year.

Best Wishes

Done! Good luck with your research. I presume you know there are plenty of very active allotment sites in York!
