Still in situ - after a bit of leaf clearing!

78 Waltham butternut squashes. Harvested two days ago, (most ripe but not all) then washed individually and put in the kitchen to dry.  Long-suffering husband then helped me lift them all outside again this morning for a sunny photo!  He was inspired to make a design.  Then he carried them all upstairs where they will sit for the winter before being used or given away.

Well, it is all thanks to you Galina!  You can see how often I think of you, with much appreciation of your kindness. These are uncontaminated fruit as I don't grow any others now except your Waltham.  If you'd like any seeds from a particular shaped fruit, just identify it and tell me!

That would be very nice indeed, as there was absolutely no chance to renew my seeds here this year - zero fruit set and the flowers were way too late in any case.  A few seeds from the type without waist, or rather with fat neck (most of yours have a waist) and a normal pearshaped one.  The former were earlier here and the seed was grown outdoors, the second type I could only grow seeds in the greenhouse (and that was in a good year  ).  Much appreciate your offer of fresh seed.

No problem, Galina, delighted to be able to give you something back. I know I'll end up giving a lot of  the squashes away, so I'll need to be sure to keep  enough of the good ones for my seed, and for you too. 
I assume you mean by the type without a waist one that is as fat up top as below?    I made some soup this week with one that hasn't ripened properly, and not surprisingly there were no seeds inside at all, and no space, just solid flesh.

Not surprised some are seedless.  That is the bane of seedsaving with these here, because often it is just too cold for proper pollination.  Lovely bounty - enjoy!
