Abby our cat
« on: July 26, 2012, 15:17:57 »
It really is the life of Riley for some. This is our cat Abby, she is a 2 year old tabby and she just loves her little lie down in the sun once she has had her breakfast:

LLLOOOLLLL "Meet my invisible cat!"
Sorry yesterday there were loads of Internet blackouts so OI think my message didn't get through properly! Let's try again.

She loves water but only if it's in a puddle! She goes in the bath after our showers and sometimes sits in the sink. She also goes on the wet floor once it's been mopped (cat shaped streaks all over the kitchen tiles....). Found this the other day when I went to have my shower:

She is so beautiful!

She looks a lot like my little Janet, one of the allotment cats.

Actually Betty, Janet looks just like our former cat, who sadly died. She had a rounder head and a more caramel coloured tone. But the new and old cats are in fact quite similar! We just like tabbies I think. *Janet is VERY pretty by the way.*

Tabby is definitely my favourite colour for a cat, especially the sort of tabby with a gingery tone to it like Abby and Janet.

Have you had Abby since she was a kitten?

Yes she was 10 weeks old. I picked her because she came straight and sat on my lap  :) Cheeky beggar has never done it since though!   She likes cuddles and strokes but not really sitting on you. She will do it with my 15 year old son, funnily enough. She likes to sit on pillows! Like, she lies down with her head raised on a pillow!" never seen a cat do that before, she is really eccentric. But she's clean and affectionate.
Yes she is gingery, her mum was a ginger tabby. She has a ginger back leg which is her sort of "birthmark" :) she is more of a brindled tabby than really stripey. But she is a nice honey colour in between the stripes.

Her mum was a Tunisian cat and so Abby has a really funny miaow, she kind of goes "Rraaarrr rraaarrr rraaaar" (very insistently) and rarely purrs. She likes to have the last word though, even if you tell her off, she always finishes with a little "mmeerpp", saucy thing.

My Zazu has always liked pillows but especially since he lost a front leg when a car hit him.  He uses my pillow at night before retiring to a foot at the end of the bed and the railway sleeper wall at the back serves as a pillow/prop in the day time.   He'll also use books or files depending on whether he's on my kitchen table or office desk.
