Topic: Andrews liver salts

I seem to remember reading somewhere that tomatoes benefit from being sprayed with a weak solution of Andrews liver salts, because they contain magnesium sulphate.

Can anyone verify if this is true. If so, how concentrated should it be and how much and how often should be sprayed?

Are there any other plants that will benefit from this; i.e what about the other plants in my greenhouse - chillis or aubergines?

I would prefer to use Epsom Salts unless you have a load of Andrews to use up.

I didn't realise how much to use, they recommend 2 tablespoons per gallon of water, all I do is sprinkle a pinch on top of the pots around the Toms.

 ;D you can use a lot, especially on roses. I get mine from fleabay 2.5kg at a time, several suppliers do it. Really works on the toms as does spraying peppers at bloom time.

I got some epsom salts now and i've been adding 2 table spoons to each watering can but I've just had a thought - is this as well as or instead of tomato feed.

I've been doing both - will this be ok? Don't want to over feed them!!
