120 ltr wheely bin as is....
Drilled 25mm holes around perimeter about 1/2 way down and then sawed in half....
Removed wheels and now rubbing down to dull the surface ready for painting.

Na!
I turned it up, I turned it down,
I rubbed it up an' I rubbed it down,
I drilled some holes an' I sawed it down,
An' now I just painted the b*gger brown.

Actually, green bins are council property and it is illegal to use them for anything other than rubbish.

Apologies......our council VERY strict re wheelie bins, they have to be returend if broken and are like gold dust, don't sell any off at all....I do like the planter idea.

The council here changed all the bins due to bar-coding. They said it was faster to ensure everyone had a bar-coded bin on the same day. They now find they have hundreds of perfectly good wheely bins surplus. I have 3 off 240 ltr ones and 2 off 120 ltr ones in the back garden. I have cut one of each in half. Bottom of smaller one will be a planter. Top will be a rhubarb forcer. Bottom of big one will be a plot wheel barrow, top is already a sunken bed full of manure ready for mushroom spawn to be followed as use as a chicon forcer. Maybe!
